When should I change my hot tub filter?

You ask. The Cover Guy answers:

When should I change my hot tub filter?

The general rule of thumb is once per year, but there are some telltale signs of when a change is due:

  1.  If you can’t get the filter reasonably clean, it’s time to replace it. (Read our blog post on how to clean your filter).
  2. If the filter element (the center part) feels loose, is ripped or collapsed, it’s time to replace it.
  3. If the caps on the end of the filter are cracked, discolored or brittle, it’s time to replace it.
Even if your filter appears to be in good shape, never use them for more than two years.

Did you Know…

A dirty filter could lead to a voided warranty? It’s a deal breaker with some manufactures. Many service calls by hot tub maintenance workers can also be traced back to poor filter maintenance — so keep your filter clean and working properly.
